Brian Herrera

Brian Herrera is the Community Engagement Manager at the Latino Policy Forum. His work focuses on ensuring equitable educational opportunities for Latinos and English learners, aiming to enhance college readiness and improve college completion rates for Latinos in Illinois. He achieves this by convening the community and key stakeholders, engaging in legislative advocacy, and fostering strategic research, and policy.

Brian is a highly accomplished community leader, experienced speaker, and has proven abilities in working with diverse academic, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds. He has been featured on media outlets like Univision, The Herald News, The Chicago Tribune, and The Patch news for inspiring and promoting college access.

Prior to joining the Forum, Brian served as a Community College Relationship Manager at National Louis University, where he actively facilitated college access for transfer students by cultivating strong partnerships with various community colleges across Illinois. His outreach extended beyond educational institutions, as he also established meaningful connections with community organizations and early childhood centers. Brian played a pivotal role in the undocumented task force and provided guidance as a co-advisor for the undocumented student club at National Louis University, demonstrating his commitment to fostering inclusivity and support within the academic community.
