Every child and family deserves to feel welcome, safe, and supported, regardless of their actual or perceived immigration status. However, recent federal policy changes, including the removal of the protected areas policy that previously banned immigration officials from entering child care programs, K-12 schools, and places of worship, have created new challenges for immigrant families and the early childhood providers who serve them.

Join the Latino Policy Forum, and partners Advance Illinois, Illinois Action for Children, Raising Illinois, Start Early, and We, the Village to hear from early childhood and immigration-focused organizations and learn about what these latest policy changes mean for programs and how Illinois’ early care and education providers can better support their students and families during such uncertain times.
