All children have the right to equal access to public education regardless of immigration status. That right was established by the U.S. Supreme Court and has been enshrined in Illinois law.  

The research is clear: every day counts. Missing just ten days of school, excused or unexcused, is enough to put a student behind. Students who miss more school are less likely to read at grade level and they score lower in math.  

Every day that a child is in the classroom is a day they win. Let’s make our K-12 schools safe for everyone and get our children back in the classroom.
