Resumen del puesto

The Forum is expanding its development department to support its growing fundraising efforts. The Development Manager is a crucial member of the Development team, working alongside the CEO, Director of Individual Giving, and Associate Director of Development to strengthen the organization’s fundraising strategies and operations. This role supports key aspects of the Forum’s development work, with a focus on grants management, event coordination, prospect research, and donor stewardship.

Key responsibilities include managing data and timelines for grant proposals and reports, supporting logistics for fundraising and stewardship events, conducting research on prospective funders and donors, and ensuring timely and personalized stewardship of supporters. The Development Manager will also maintain accurate donor records in Salesforce, generate reports to inform fundraising strategy, and provide coordination support to the Associate Board. This position requires a detail-oriented, highly organized individual with strong written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative spirit.

Responsabilidades

Grants and Proposal Management – 20%

  • Data Management for Proposals and Reports: Collect and organize data for proposals and reports, working with internal teams to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
  • Grants Calendar and Submission: Help Associate Director of Development manage the grants calendar to meet deadlines for proposals, reports, and meetings with funders. Assist in scheduling meetings and submitting requests and reports on time.
  • Support in Proposal Development: Assist as needed in the creation of grant proposals, renewals, or reports.

Event Management and Coordination – 20%

  • Manage Event Logistics: Work with Development team to coordinate event details, such as venue, guest invitations, RSVPs, volunteers, and day-of logistics to ensure smooth execution.
  • Track Sponsorships and Donor Engagement: Keep accurate records of donor and sponsor commitments and assist with post-event follow-up to strengthen relationships.
  • Collaborate on Event Promotion: Work with the communications team to promote events through digital marketing, social media, and print materials to increase attendance and engagement.

Prospect Research and Stewardship – 15%

  • Conduct Prospect Research: Work with development team to research potential institutional funders and major gift donors, providing reports and maintaining accurate records to support fundraising efforts.
  • Conduct Stewardship Efforts: Organize donor cultivation and stewardship activities and ensure personalized outreach and materials are prepared.
  • Oversee Donor Recognition: Ensure donors and supporters are properly acknowledged in the annual report with accurate and thoughtful recognition.

Data and Reporting – 15%

  • Maintain Salesforce Database: Keep donor records accurate and up-to-date by entering pledges, received gifts, and solicitation history.
  • Generate Gift Reports: Provide regular reports on fundraising performance for the CEO and Development Team.
  • Manage Donor Lists and Reports: Create and update lists and reports to support development activities and tracking.
  • Reconcile Donor Reports with Finance: Ensure donor reports are accurate and aligned with the Finance department for reconciliation.
  • Update Donor Records: Regularly review and update donor information in Salesforce to ensure accuracy.

Donor and Fundraising Management – 10%

  • Track Institutional Funders: Keep the database updated with accurate information on institutional funders and their activities.
  • Support Annual Fund Campaigns: Assist with the planning and coordination of annual fundraising campaigns, including monthly giving, end-of-year efforts, and Giving Tuesday.
  • Ensure Donor Benefits: Make sure recurring donors receive their benefits, maintaining positive relationships and satisfaction.

Associate Board and Committee Management – 10%

  • Support Associate Board Development: Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and management of Associate Board members, ensuring their efforts support the Forum’s fundraising and engagement goals.
  • Coordinate Associate Board Meetings and Events: Assist with planning and organizing meetings and events with the board to encourage participation and contributions.
  • Engage with Committees: Participate in meetings and assist with follow-up and coordination for the Board Development Committee to strengthen fundraising and engagement efforts.

Administrative Support – 10%

  • Provide Administrative Support: Assist the development department with tasks like scheduling, document preparation, and other activities.

Cualificaciones

  • 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, development, or nonprofit work, with a focus on:
    • Grant writing and management
    • Donor relations and stewardship
    • Event planning and coordination
  • Experience with databases/CRM systems; Salesforce experience highly desired
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; able to manage multiple projects and deadlines with attention to detail
  • Proficient in donor cultivation, stewardship, and data analysis
  • Problem-solving abilities, particularly related to event logistics and donor engagement
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for working with diverse communities
  • Flexible, proactive, and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, marketing, communications, English or literature, or a related field preferred but not required

Remuneración y prestaciones

The salary range for this role is $65,000 – $72,000, commensurate with experience. The Forum uses a consistent process to determine salaries, considering current market benchmarks, relevant experience, and education. To promote fairness and transparency, salaries are set as non-negotiable. This approach helps ensure equity across roles and levels within the organization.
