José Gutiérrez

José Gutierrez is a proud McDonald’s Franchisee with five restaurants. He is honored to provide “America’s best first job” in an environment that promotes education and serves customers with the highest level of customer service while building the McDonald’s brand.

José Gutierrez became a McDonald’s Franchisee in 2019 and has always strived to serve the communities he serves by speaking at local schools and donating to local organizations. In the past 5 years, he has awarded over $800,000 in tuition assistance to his employees and tens of thousands of dollars to local schools through McTeacher’s night fundraisers.

José Gutierrez was selected by his McDonald’s colleagues to lead Latino marketing efforts in the communities they serve on the McDonald’s Hispanic Operator Association board, at local and national levels. In addition, José Gutierrez is the Chicagoland area’s led to mentor new and future McDonald’s operators on the Gen M board. Additionally, he serves on the McDonald’s Operators of Chicago and Northwest Indiana board, and in other community boards.

On a personal level, José Gutierrez has served on the boards of many non-profit organizations supporting community organizations. He is passionate and committed to serving the communities he serves in Cedar Lake, St John, Schererville, Highland, and Lansing.

With more than 20 years of experience in marketing, José Gutierrez has worked for several well-known brands. As the former Director of Multicultural Marketing at Verizon Wireless, he set the strategic direction for the development of products, services, and marketing for the Latino, Asian, African American and General Market Segments. Prior to joining Verizon, José Gutierrez worked for McDonald’s Corporation as a Regional Marketing Executive, co-managing the Southern California region and led Multicultural and young adult marketing initiatives at many levels.

In addition, José Gutierrez worked in the beverage industries in different capacities including Product Manager focusing on the Latino Market and General Market. José Gutierrez has consulted on marketing projects for other major brands like Kroger, Sprint, and Bank of America.

José Gutierrez has a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Literature and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from San Francisco State University. In addition, he has an MBA from the University of California, Irvine.
